Binder-USA Announces 7/8" Panel-Mount Connectors with Dip Solder Contacts

Camarillo, CA - Binder-USA is pleased to announce the addition of 7/8" panel-mount connectors with dip solder contacts to the Series 820 and 870 connector family. With the dip solder contacts the connectors can now be mounted to a PCB board. The 7/8" connectors are ideally suited for power supplies, Fieldbus and Ethernet applications.

The new receptacles are available in both male and female versions with 2+PE, 4 and 4+PE gold-plated contacts. Front- and rear-mountable positions allow for the receptacles to be mounted from the back or front of a panel. All versions have UL approval and an IP67 rating ensures connectors are protected while used in harsh environments.

In order to make a complete connecting system the receptacles will mate with the field-attachable connectors and cordsets from the entire Binder 7/8" connector family.

Binder-USA Releases Adjustable M12 Receptacles

Camarillo, CA - Binder-USA is pleased to announce new receptacles with adjustable angular positions as part of the Series 713, 763, 715 and 766 automation product ranges. The panel-mounted receptacles can be rotated during installation to allow a right-angle cordset to connect in a desired angular position. These M12 A- and B-coded connectors are commonly used for industrial networks and automation applications in harsh environments.

The new receptacles are available in both male and female versions and prewired with 200mm wires. The A-coded connectors are available with 4, 5, 8 and 12 gold-plated contacts. The B-coded connectors are available with 4 and 5 gold-plated contacts. When fully connected to their mating parts the connectors are IP67/IP68 rated ensuring connections are protected from liquids and debris.

Additionally, the housing of the A-coded receptacles has been converted from nickel-plated brass to nickel-plated die-cast zinc. In result terminations are no longer potted since the contact insert is now keyed and locked in the housing.

Binder-USA is introducing the Series 820 7/8" cable connectors with newly labeled screw terminals. By labeling the terminals it is now easier to identify the correct pin location for each wire.

The price and dimensions of the connectors will not be affected by this change. Mixed shipments of marked and unmarked terminals is possible while stock of the previous version depletes.

This new feature allows the connectors to be tightened with a torque wrench to ensure proper mating of the connecting system. The new locking ring nut will gradually replace the old ring nut for the M12 A- and B-Coded cordsets. Camarillo, CA – Binder-USA is now offering M12 and 7/8″ field-attachable connectors with larger screw clamp terminations. This change will allow the connectors to accept wires up to 14 AWG. The ability to use a larger wire gauge make the connectors suitable for connecting power applications typically found in industrial environments.

The Series 713 M12 connectors with 4- and 5-pins can now be terminated with 16 AWG wires and a maximum cable diameter of 10 mm. After increasing the wire gauge it is possible for the connectors to conduct currents up to 8 A per contact. Both male and female versions are available in straight form and are intermateable with all 4- and 5-pin A-coded versions.

The Series 820 7/8″ connectors with 5-pins can now be terminated with 14 AWG wires and a maximum cable diameter of 14 mm. By increasing the size of the cable clamps it is now possible for the connectors to withstand currents up to 12 A per contact. Male and female connectors with straight and angled forms are available with the larger screw terminations.

Binder-USA Expands RD24 Connectors to Accept Larger Cables

Camarillo, CA - Binder-USA has expanded its line of RD24 Series 692 and 693 right-angle connectors with PG11 and PG 13.5 cable outlets. The male and female cable connectors can now accept cables with an OD of 8-12 mm. Binder RD24 connectors are ideally suited for industrial power applications.

The new RD24 connectors have cable outlets that are PG11 or PG13.5 making it possible to fit cables with diameters between 8-12mm. All Series 692 and UL approved 693 connectors are offered with 3+PE or 6+PE silver contacts. The design improvement features a new diecast threaded locking nut with a SW24 hexagon outer contour for better tightening of mating connectors. The 7/8" connectors are ideally suited for industrial network applications.

The previous aluminum locking nut is now replaced with a nickel-plated diecast zinc locking nut. Each nut has an anti-vibration feature to ensure the connectors stay in mated condition when properly fastened. All Series 820 field-attachable male and female connectors include the new locking nut.

Available features of the upgraded connectors are straight and right-angle versions that will accept cable diameters between 6 and 14 mm. MPE-Garry Raises Power Density on Connectors

Network Cable Connectors Accept Larger Wire Sizes

CAMARILLO, CA – Binder-USA has announced its newest addition of 7/8” cable connectors with 2.5mm terminal cross-section capacity to the Series 820 field-attachable connectors. The increase in terminal size now accepts wire sizes up to 14 AWG. With the larger terminal size the 7/8” connectors are well suited for a variety of Fieldbus and Ethernet network applications.

The 7/8” connectors are offered with 5 gold-plated contacts in male and female versions with straight and right-angle options. Cables up to 14mm in diameter can be connected to straight versions and up to 12mm cables can be connected to right-angle versions. Wires are attached with screw-type terminals. When properly mated the connectors are IP67-rated assuring the connection is protected from liquids and debris. The metal housing is made of nickel plated brass and offered with 3, 4 and 8 gold-plated contacts. Pre-wired 24 AWG wires are 200 mm long. The new connectors feature an internal iris spring, which simplifies the connection between the cable shield and the connector body. Cable plugs will now accept multi-conductor cables having an outer diameter of up to 14mm max. Prior to this new development the largest acceptable cable diameter was 12mm. The larger cable diameter adds yet another option to this already, highly versatile connector line.

The new designs maintain the IP67 environmental protection rating when fully mated and terminated to cable having an outer diameter within the recommended range which varies by part number. The connectors are available with or without SEV, VDE and UL approvals. Male and female cable plugs or panel-mount, flanged sockets are available with (2) contact configurations; 3+PE and 6+PE. The available termination styles include screw-type, solder-cup and crimp terminations (crimp contacts & crimp tooling ordered separately). Binder-USA offers a wide variety of M12 threaded connectors that are ideal for many different applications. While these connectors are most commonly used in factory automation applications, their robust, trustworthy design and relative low cost makes them ideal for other harsh environment and even commercial applications. Binder-USA’s M12 connector range offers an ingress protection rating up to IP68, shielding for EMI protection and a variety of termination options. Termination styles include PCB & soldercup contacts, flying leads and molded overmolded cordsets in standard lengths of 2 and 5-meters.

In addition to the connector options mentioned above, Binder-USA’s M12 connectors are available with (3) different mechanical keying options. These options are described as a-coded, b-coded (or reverse b-coded) or d-coded. The coding of an M12 connector is achieved by molding keyways or keys into a connector’s insert/contact carrier. Protective caps feature a PA (polyamide) body, PUR (polyurethane) retaining strap, and a nitrile rubber (NBR) seal – a common material used for o-rings. Caps for use on cable plugs feature a retaining ring which allows the cap to be easily fixed onto a cable. This enhancement ensures 360 degree EMI protection and reduces the number of components required for assembly as well as the time required to terminate a cable.
